Ms. Ramsey is a Certified Financial Planner Professional™, Advisory Representative of LPL Financial and the founder (2001) and President of Premier Advisor Group LLC in Durham, NC. She is a well-known financial educator, speaker and counselor to clients, educational, nonprofit and professional groups. She writes and speaks to varied audiences on topics including Zero Estate Tax Planning, Tax Smart Strategies for Retirement Planning, Maximizing the Income and Estate Tax Opportunities with IRA's, and Optimizing Your Wealth. Most recently she was published in Stop & Think: Important Financial Advice for You and Your Family, writing on the topic of “Optimizing Your Wealth: It's Not Just About the Money”.
For as long as she can remember, she has been interested in learning more about how to achieve financial independence and how to maximize resources. This naturally led to working in the financial services field. For over three decades, Ms. Ramsey has assisted families, non-profits and professional advisors in creative ways to combine life planning with financial planning to build legacies of significance based on personal values. She has a passion for providing counsel and assistance that has resulted in greater retirement income, substantial savings in estate and income taxes and successful strategies for larger and more meaningful multi-generational family wealth transfer and preservation.
Ms. Ramsey is a member of FPA, the Financial Planning Association and NCCGP, the NC Council of Charitable Gift Planners, and CGP, the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners. She founded the gift planning program at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Durham, NC and also served as treasurer. She has also served as President of the Durham/Orange Estate Planning Council, as Treasurer/board member for the NC Council of Charitable Gift Planners, as Chair of the Alumni Council for UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and as a faculty instructor for OLLI (Osher Lifelong Learning Institute) at Duke University.
Born in Raleigh, NC, Ms. Ramsey holds BSBA and MBA degrees from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School/Chapel Hill. She has lived in Durham since 1983 with her husband, Neil. They love to travel, take long walks together and escape to the golf course whenever weather and time allow. She is also a big fan of the Rolling Stones, Broadway musicals, jazz, Bruno Mars, yoga, laughter, murder mysteries and the UNC Tarheels (not necessarily in that order).
